We are currently looking for volunteers to fill various duties with Poverello House. From grocery shopping, to creating newsletters, to serving meals, we have many ways to get involved and help the unsheltered adults in the Tucson community.

From grocery shopping, to serving meals, to spending time with our guests at the house, we have many volunteer opportunities that are flexible and provide the opportunity to directly help the unsheltered adults in the Tucson community.

Monetary Donations

Our operating costs are roughly $10,000/month. All donations go directly towards utilities, supplies and food. You can make a one time donation or set up a monthly contribution. Any support is greatly appreciated!

Participate in the Annual Dinner

​Join us at our annual dinner and principal fundraising event celebrating the feast of St. Francis of Assisi. This year’s dinner will be on Sunday, October 4th.

Current Volunteer Opportunities

Guest Liaisons:
– Be present at the house for 4-hour shifts.
– Check guests in and assist staff with serving food, helping give out clothing, etc.
– Shifts between 8:00am -12:00pm or 12:00pm-4:00pm Wednesday – Saturday.
– On Wednesdays, we serve only women guests.
– On Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, we serve only men guests.

House Shoppers:
– Visit Costco, Dollar Store, Walmart etc. fulfilling shopping list needs and running errands.
– Flexible schedule – be prepared to charge $300- $400 on your own card and be reimbursed within a week.

Unique Talents:
– Various different skills and abilities always appreciated!
– Social Media & Graphic design, create Facebook and Instagram posts
– CPR/First Aid trainers, Art/Wellness instructors

Special Events:
Occasionally event based volunteers. Help set up during quarterly/annual fundraisers, assist with newsletter/bulk mailings

Prepare/Cater Lunch:
Once each month purchase, prepare and deliver lunch for 12 persons.
